The aim of the Arts in Education study program is to explore innovative practices to secure quality in arts education. With an interdisciplinary approach to arts practice the study focuses on the role of arts in education and the community.
Three courses are offered in the program: Arts and Understanding, Leaning In and Through the Arts, and Teaching Artist. The program qualifies the graduates for working as art educators or teaching artists in school and community programs.The teaching artist course includes a compulsory practice in cooperation with a school, a community or art institution.
120 ECTS in a relevant Art or Media discipline, and a sufficient mastery of the English language to participate in dialogue based lecturing.
Undervisningsmåtar og vurderingsordningar
The study program is only offered as a part-time study. The successions of courses are open to the student’s choice and dependent on when the courses are offered. The courses in the program are not offered each semester.
Teaching and assessment arrangements are made specifically for each coursework and usually concentrated in sessions each being 2-5 days.
